You just have to hand it to Inés Lorenzo. Subsequent to taking up the mantel as head of editorial content at Vogue Spain HQ, Lorenzo has successfully managed to support homegrown talent via the Spanish fashion bible’s front covers. Everyone from Blanca Padilla and Penélope Cruz to Ángela Molina and Rosalía have graced the magazine during Lorenzo’s tenure – some on more than one occasion. Bad Gyal is unveiled as the magazine’s April 2024 cover star, marking the Spanish singer and songwriter’s very first Vogue cover appearance. Via the lens of photographer Campbell Addy, Bad Gyal poses under clear blue skies in the warm and inviting cover photograph, dressed by stylist Harry Lambet in a floral top and skirt from Francesco Risso’s Spring 2024 Marni collection.

“Out of all the Euro editions of Vogue, I feel like Vogue Spain remains the strongest and most… consistent. At the very least, Inés Lorenzo regularly champions homegrown talent – this being a prime example. No idea who Bad Gyal is and that Marni dress (looking like Lady Gaga’s meat dress) is an eyesore but the lighting and colors are beautiful,” reasoned vogue28.
